Karen knew early on that she wanted to work in health care. She has found she attains the most joy through directly working to help others improve their lives. Hearing technology is constantly changing and up to date information is how she best serves her patients. In order to stay on the cutting edge, Karen regularly attends industry conferences. She also attends the AcAud National Congress and consumes as much professional literature as possible. Karen attains a lot of personal satisfaction through helping people hear better. Not only are her patients better able to conduct their daily lives, they can also now connect with their friends and family. The joy of those re-established connections makes every hour Karen spends at the clinic well worth it. Technology has improved to such a point that every patient can improve their hearing. This keeps Karen engaged and hopeful for the future of the industry.
Karen is originally from a farming area on the Darling Downs in Queensland. She attended Mountain Creek State High School and has lived on the Sunshine Coast for over 26 years. She loves animals and has previously housed not only several chickens; but also a rather cheeky goat. Karen loves curry, but prefers a homemade meal to take-out. Her passion for food extends to community service, as she gives back by making meals for those who find themselves down on luck. She follows tennis and Queensland in the State of Origin. She also loves exercise and spending time with her husband and two son’s. Karen is known for her early nights, often going to bed well before the rest of the party!
