After a fair bit of research, he came across the new Diploma of Audiology being run by the University of Queensland. He quickly realised that this was the path for him to take and resigned from his engineering job. Neil enrolled in an in-depth course consisting of lectures, research and clinical placements in hospitals and hearing clinics. Upon graduation, he worked in various government hearing clinics, eventually ascending to senior government management. After many years, he left the public sector to begin in private practice. In 1997, he founded our clinic at Duporth Avenue in Maroochydore. He loves working in this industry and is particularly fond of his superb clientele.
Neil is originally from Nobby in Queensland, on the Darling Downs between Toowoomba and Warwick. He has eclectic interests including art, fixing various broken things, renovations and hobby farming. He also enjoys camping and the occasional cruise. His music tastes span the gamut from WWII wartime tunes and Frank Sinatra to the 1970s hits he grew up on. He is quite outdoorsy and enjoys long walks in the mountains and along the beach. He is particularly fond of water sports. He likes to surf, ski and body surf. He also loves to watch diving, gymnastics and the occasional cricket match. He tries to eat healthily and avoid carbohydrates, but has a particular weakness for Butter Chicken Indian take-away. He has lived in the community for over 26 years and is proud to serve a place that has given him so much.
